Leche Flan

Leche Flan is a classic and all-time favorite Filipino dessert. It is not only popular in the Philippines but also around the world especially in Europe. The word Leche Flan is from the Spanish word flan de leche, which means milk flan because it is mostly composed of milk and eggs.

Fiestas and any celebration here in the Philippines will not be complete without the presence of a Leche Flan. Nowadays, there are a lot of variations of this dessert like Coffee, Chocolate, etc. but classic will always be the best.

This is also my favorite dessert and just this day I craved for it. I made one and I wanna share with you how it is made.

For the Flan:

5 egg yolks

5 whole eggs

1 small can condensed milk

1 cup fresh milk (or evaporated milk)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Caramel:

3 tbs. Glucose

2/3 cup sugar1

Place the egg yolks in a big bowl then beat them using a fork or an egg beater

Add the condensed milk and fresh milk then mix together.

Then add the vanilla and strain.

Put Glucose in a pan, medium fire. Then gradually add the sugar.

Stir slowly until amber in color

Then transfer to the molds

Pour in the flan mixture and steam

Steam the mold with egg and milk mixture for 30 to 35 minutes. After steaming, let the temperature cool down then refrigerate

Serve for dessert. Share and Enjoy!
